PKRA FREESTYLE WORLD TOUR (april 10-15)
For the third year, Leucate will host the best freestyle specialists on the famous spot of La Franqui.
Leucate will be an amazing area for a while, and welcome famous international riders as Kevin Langeree (Holl, world N°1), Youri Zoon (Holl), Reno Romeu (Bra), Alex Pastor (Spa), Sébastien Garat (Fra), Bruna Kajiya (Bra - World N°1), Gisela Pulido (Spa), Angela Peral (Spa), everyone will show for this second international meeting.
On top, Volkswagen Utilitaires will launch the Best Trick Super Session, which rewards the most radical trick of the contest.
ORANGE SPEED CROSSING (april 13-18)
The 12 best windsurfers of the world tour will meet the best 12 Kitesurfers on speed runs and long distances races formats. Every competitor will have to push the limit to achieve. A personal and a mass challenge will take place to know who, between kitesurfers and windsurfers, will be the number one of this new challenge.
Alex Caizergues, Antoine Albeau, Finian Maynard among others are more than ever ready to challenge this unique event. Bets are opened.
KITESURF LONG DISTANCE (april 10-12)
Pro and amateurs will compete on a 20km long distance format
This event will associate endurance and skill. Among the committed athletes, will be present the new Kitesurf world speed record holder, the french man Alex Caizergues, who reached the speed of 50,98 knots (94km/h) on a 500 meter run november 14th, 2009.
EUROPE PRO TOUR (april 15-18)
For the first time, Leucate la Franqui will host the first European Freestyle Pro Tour stop. The best European of the discipline as Steven van Broeckhoven, Nikolas Strahlen, and the local boy Nicolas Akgazciyan, will compete.
Some young competitors will take part in the main event. New young talents will have a chance to get in the Tour. A final Junior ranking will be issued.
TRYOUTS
People could try Sky Fly, mountain bike, Windsurf first steps, Stand Up Paddle, learn to pilot a kite, sand yacht and how to roll with a buggy pulled with a kitesurf
For the second year in a row a stand up paddle race will take place during Le Mondial du Vent, April 17th .
New : This year, the brand new windsurfing materials will be exposed and available for use.
LE VILLAGE
Le Mondial du Vent is also an amazing huge public meeting, for nature lovers or strong sensations addicted fans. A lot of animations and workshops will be proposed on the theme of water and wind. There will be free attractions which will be proposed to the whole familly. These activities aim to make people aware on this natural element which is the wind and to teach people on the environment (with kite making and ocean library).
