In our 2008 event, Mondial du Vent glides on the wave of new disciplines and gives a special attention on Kitesurfing. April 12 to 18th, the best worldwide riders will be on deck to compete for the 45 000€ purse for this first French Freestyle and Race event of the PKRA World Tour. PKRA is an “association of riders for riders” who organizes the world tour. This 2008 tour will gathers ten events thru continents: Mexico, Leucate-France, Dominican Republic, Tarifa-Spain, Fuerteventura-Spain, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Chile and Peru.

Freestyle is a thrilling expression discipline rated by a full panel of international judges. Freestyle judging is based on hard core moves difficulties, risk and style. Kite power and speed helps the rider to jump to 10 meters high.

Pros and amateurs of this discipline will compete on some exciting and hard core long distance races between the cliff of La Franqui and the “Plage des Coussoules”, 20 kms. This discipline takes part in the French Sailing Federation schedule.

On the start line : David Garrel, Benoît and Sylvain Moussilmani. French Pole Team Funboard as well : from Leucate Nicolas Akgazciyan, 8th of Freestyle PWA World cup, Pierre Mortefon, French Champion in the hope youth category in slalom (Port la Nouvelle – Aude), Nicolas Warembourg, vice French Champion (Montpellier), Aurélien Le Métayer (Saint Malo), Antoine Questel (Isle of Ré) will line up on the start line of this windsurf event.
This team created in 2005, gathers top level competitors for a same goal: learn nautic activities.
